Googling doesn’t help much and I’m still figuring out how to navigate the Dododex, and with many forums and threads being years old I’m not sure with how relevant and accurate the information provided are.

I’ve been playing this game everyday since I started for an embarrassingly large amount of time (my character is level 97 which I’ve quickly realized isn’t actually that high in ARK standards, plus I turned XP gain as high as it can go because I play solo so it’s not really an accomplishment but I have killed a lot of time getting to it) so I was a bit confused why I haven’t found any non fertilized eggs lying about from my tames. My dodos are constantly dropping eggs and I’m not surprised it’s considerably quicker than all my other dinos, but so far the only other non fertilized eggs I’ve found from my tames are Dilo eggs (two), and Parasaus (rarely).

I’m trying to collect eggs so that while I’m busy base and trap building I can passively make and store different types of kibble for future use. I do not own Ark Survival Evolved or the dossiers.Very very green player of this game (Xbox one console in case it’s important) with less than a week under my belt. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Dilophosaur will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Dilophosaur. This section displays the Dilophosaur's natural colors and regions. If threatened a Dilophosaurus will erect its frill, hiss, and spit a greenish venom that stuns and blinds its target. They are found alone or in small groups throughout the island and prey upon anything smaller than themselves, though these dinosaurs are also frequent scavengers. Appearanceĭilophosaurus is a small opportunistic predator best distinguished by the twin crests on its head and the membranous frill surrounding its neck. The Dilophosaur is a highly adaptable animal that can be seen in many environments including beaches, plains, river banks, jungles, swamps and the redwood forest. Dilophosaurus do not attack other dinosaurs, except for Parasaur, Pteranodon (which they usually can't catch), and Dodo, but instead will scavenge for dinosaurs that have already been killed and consume the meat of the corpse. They also do not live in packs, but can be found with 2-3 others. Unlike other predators, the Dilophosaurus sometimes chooses to flee the player, making a relatively easy kill. Instead of attacking its prey outright, Dilophosaurus sputatrix spits venom to weaken and paralyze it before moving in for the kill.ĭilophosaurus have a very small aggravation range, but if provoked can produce deadly strikes in a very short time, as well as blinding you with a ranged poison that it will initially use before biting. I believe these are used to attract mates, as well as intimidate prey and would-be predators.

It has a very shrill call, and a decorative ridge of skin on its neck. Known Information: Dilophosaurus sputatrix has a few traits not common in the Dilophosaurus genus. Due to their small size, they are not suitable as mounts. It stands at just over half the size of known Dilophosaurs, and runs from aggressors as often as it fights them.ĭomesticated: Because of their shrill cry and their ability to attack intruders from range, Dilophosaurus seem most suited as "guard dogs". Wild: Dilophosaurus sputatrix is a strange creature.
